Katie Kemple is a poet based in Southern California. She is the author of Love in the Key of COBRA, winner of the 2025 Iron Horse Literary Review chapbook prize and Big Man (Chestnut Review Chapbooks).

Her poems have appeared in or are forthcoming from Beloit Poetry Journal, Ploughshares, and The South Carolina Review; and many other wonderful journals.

Kemple is the recipient of poetry scholarships to La Romita Art School (Italy, 2025) and Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing (2024).

She is co-founder and Chief Poetry Officer at The Poetry Shop, a poetry-only online bookstore; where she oversees curation and community.
